    Phase II to be launched at NIPN Global Gathering

    The launch of NIPN Phase II (2022-2025) will take place at the NIPN Global Gathering in October 2022. Phase II has already started in an approach suited to each NIPN country’s specific situation, beginning last year with the extension of the NIPN platform in Guatemala. Mali will join the NIPN initiative this year, while NIPN Bangladesh was closed in February 2022. Technical and management support will be provided by C4N-NIPN in Ethiopia, Mali and Niger; by UNICEF in Uganda, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Kenya, and Lao PDR; and by Centro Agronómico Tropical de Investigación y Enseñanza (CATIE) in Guatemala.

The webinar will focus on NIPN Guatemala, that has achieved great progress and has gone an extra-mile by piloting the initiative at the decentralized level in the municipality of Momostenango. During this webinar, Cristina Lopriore, the international expert that has accompanied the development of a case study on the Guatemala experience will guide us through the results and recommendations of the study.     Join Us for the N4G Webinar on Data Commitments to Improve Nutrition!

    The Nutrition for Growth (N4G) online event ‘Improving nutrition through accountability and data systems’ will take place on November 17 (08:00 to 09:30 am US EST / 14:00 pm to 15:30 CET). The event will focus on providing an overview of potential data commitments recommended by the Nutrition Data Partners Group, a group of global development partners committed to strengthening nutrition-relevant data. The aim of the session is to motivate more countries to consider formulating data-related commitments, and shape bold SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely) commitments to improve nutrition data. Important data themes will be illustrated through short examples and good practices by country governments. The experience of the NIPN platform of Niger will be presented under the 3rd theme, with the intervention of the EU Ambassador to Niger and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Planning of Niger.     Shaping commitments to improve nutrition data and accountability in support of food, health and prosperity for all

    The Nutrition Data Partner Group has released a brief aiming at advising governments, donors and development partners on the formulation of data-specific commitment for the Nutrition for Growth (N4G) Summit which will take place in Tokyo at the end of the year, 7-8 December. Sample commitments that can be adapted to country contexts can also be found in the short paper: “investing in information platforms at central or decentralized level to support decision making” is one of them.
