More InformationAt the margins of the One Health Summit, this side-event showcased ten years of experience of National Information Platforms for Nutrition (NIPN) in strengthening evidence-based decision-making to advance sustainable food and nutrition systems.
Over the past decade, nine countries across Africa, Asia and Central America have established NIPNs—nationally led platforms embedded within public institutions, including ministries and public health institutes. These platforms centralise, analyse and communicate data from multiple sectors (health, agriculture, social protection, water and sanitation, etc.) to inform strategic policy decisions and strengthen accountability in addressing all forms of malnutrition.
Co-organised by C4N-NIPN Global Coordination, the European Commission (EC) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the event gathered public officials from Anglophone and Francophone NIPN countries in Africa, practitioners, and international partners to discuss how sustained collaborative approaches for coordinated data ecosystems can support more effective and sustainable nutrition governance.
