Multisectoral collaboration is at the heart of the NIPN approach, bringing together individuals and teams from multiple organisations differing in mandates and culture. Even with the best will of the world, collaboration between organisations is hard work and fraught with challenges. Leadership, strategic capacity and functional skills are needed to establish effective collaborations with the NIPN platforms and with the stakeholders from various sectors.

On the 6th of November, during the SUN Global Gathering in Kathmandu, representatives from the Global Support Facility and from the NIPNs of Lao PDR and Niger shared the experience of NIPN in a workshop entitled “More or better data for improved decision-making for nutrition?”. More.

On October 14-16, the Global Support Facility organised a capacity building workshop on the NIPN operational cycle for the NIPN team and partners in Bangladesh. It gathered participants from the Bangladesh National Nutrition Council (BNNC), the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), the Bangladesh Institute for Development Studies (BIDS), Helen Keller International (HKI) and the Ministries of Food, Health and Planning.

In Lao PDR, under the umbrella of the NIPN, the Centre for Development Policy Research of Ministry of Planning and Investment and UNICEF have published a report from a “Multiple Overlapping Deprivation Analysis on Stunting”. More.

NIPN in Guatemala analysed progress based on the implementation of three consecutive national multisectoral nutrition strategies. The results are being used by SESAN to advocate for better implementation of nutrition actions. More.
