This case study explores collaboration opportunities between the European Commission-funded projects EC-NIS and NIPN, both aimed at strengthening the nutrition data value chain, with a focus on Ethiopia and Lao PDR. The study underscores the importance of collaboration to strengthen nutrition data systems and achieve shared objectives.
The 6th Global Gathering report summarises the key insights, lessons, and recommendations shared during the 2024 NIPN Global Gathering in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 22 to 24 October. Under the theme NIPN for the future: Sustainability in an evolving policy environment, the event concentrated on supporting sustainability plans, advocating for domestic funding, and promoting NIPN at global and national levels, with particular focus on countries with devolved governance and advancing the NIPN initiative. The report also highlights partner reflections and concrete actions to advance nutrition decision-making.

The 5th Global Gathering report summarises the key insights, lessons, and recommendations shared during the 2023 NIPN Global Gathering in Brussels, from 6 to 8 June. Under the theme Communication for informed decision making, the main objective of the event was to strengthen platforms’ capacity to communicate effectively with decision-makers. The report also highlights the sessions on the sustainability plans of country platforms and the NIPN Contribution Study.
C4N-NIPN Global Coordination has commissioned the N4D group to conduct a contribution study to assess the performance of the NIPN initiative and the extent to which its activities have contributed to strengthening the nutrition data environment. The objectives of the contribution study were:
- to assess the level of achievement of NIPN outputs during phase 1;
- to understand the extent to which NIPN is contributing to changes (positive or negative) into nutrition data environment in countries;
- to provide actionable recommendations that inform the future implementation.
